Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you will drive for approximately 30 minutes to the crater floor. Upon arrival, you will be amazed by the concentration and sheer number and diversity of animals and bird life! Seated or standing in your safari vehicle, the game viewing opportunities will be endless...The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five. On the crater floor you can expect to see herds of zebra, wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, Grant’s gazelle, topi and many more. Sightings of predators such as lion, hyena, jackal and bat-eared fox regularly occur here as well. Although cheetah and leopard are a little more scarce in this park, they can still be spotted with a little luck. Ngorongoro Crater is also one of a handful of places in Africa where you have a very good chance of seeing rhino, though usually from a distance. Bird species are also numerous and varied here. After your wonderful safari day, you will be driven back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

You will stop along the way at a Masai Boma (village) and meet some of the people who live there. Your drive will then continue through the rolling landscapes upon which you may spot Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, giraffes, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and more.
