Day 1: Arrive in Tanzania
Day 2: Visit Lake Manyara
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your Hotel and then drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game drive, late afternoon drive to Hotel for dinner and overnight. Lake Manyara. The name Manyara is derived from the Masai word “Emanyara”, which is a Euphorbia species of plant that is found around a family homestead in the area. After an early breakfast we drive down into the valley and explore the Lake Manyara National Park. Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment. Here guests will be introduced to large buffalo, wildebeest, giraffes and zebra herds congregating on the grassy plains while the narrow belt of acacia wood bordering the plains are the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. Taking in the expansive views eastward, across the central soda lake we will be amazed by the sight of thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as storks, cormorants and pelicans. At the Southern end of the park we will visit algae-streaked sulphur hot water springs known as (MajiMoto) bubbling from deep within the earth.
Day 3: Lake Manyara-Serengeti
After breakfast we continue with the game drive to the world famous Serengeti National Park which derives its name from the Masai for “endless plain”, is the jewel of Tanzania’s protected areas and lies on a vast plateau between the eastern arm of the Rift Valley and the huge expanse of Lake Victoria. Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park and a World Heritage site, the Serengeti is best known for the annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle. Spectacular game viewing—of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, topi, impala, Grant’s gazelle, lion and leopard is a highlight. Be inspired by the “amazing Acadia trees” dotted throughout the Serengeti, where visitors are treated with some of the most mesmerizing sunsets in the world. Our small safari vehicles minimize drive times and improve your chances of snapping that perfect shot of one of the elusive ‘Big 5’
Day 4: Full day game drive in Serengeti
Day 5: Serengeti Ngorongoro
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater-Arusha
Early in the morning we drive to Ngorongoro crater descend to the crater floor where you will be amazed by the sheer number and diversity of animals and birdlife. Seated or standing in our pop up safari vehicles the viewing opportunities are endless, just deciding which way to look and what to look at, the choices are unlimited. The sheer excitement as we spot any of the Big 5 or we get the call over the radio that a lion is perched high atop a nearby rocky outcrop or a black rhino has been sighted and rush with our vehicle to catch a glimpse before the moment passes. The excitement mounts again as arrive to yet another sighting, perhaps a lioness and her cubs right next to our vehicle. The sheer excitement of the chase is indescribable. Late afternoon drive back to Moshi. Overnight at Hotel.
