Materuni Waterfall is the highest and most impressive waterfall at the foothill of Mt. Kilimanjaro located at the Latitude. -3.25025° or 3° 15′ 1″ south ; Longitude. 37.40007° or 37° 24′ 0″ east. On arrival you will finish all formalities then you will 40 minutes hiking down to the village waterfalls hike through the hills and valleys en route to the Materuni waterfalls. The valleys and hills are covered by tropical rainforest, coffee, banana and avocado “shambas”, the Kiswahili word for farms and you guide will explain all to you until you finally reach the waterfalls where you refresh in such amazing condition and you can swim so don’t forget to pack your swimming gears. After finish the waterfalls, you’ll visit a coffee place and learn about how coffee is grown, harvested and processed, and you’ll try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee the Chagga way. finally you will finish with traditional meal which contain variety of traditional foods and fresh seasonal fruits that makes you to feel the nature before you depart the village. On a clear day great views of Kibo and Moshi town can be seen during hiking. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended.
