Marangu Cultural Tours
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi and drive to Marangu, a charming town on the fertile slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its rich history and ancient traditions, Marangu is home to the Chagga people, lush rainforests, and thriving coffee and banana plantations.
This full-day cultural tour offers a blend of adventure, history, and local traditions. You will visit the Chagga underground caves, once used as hideouts during tribal conflicts. Next, we will stop at a small coffee farm, where you’ll learn about the entire coffee-making process—from cultivation to roasting—before preparing your fresh cup of organic coffee, all while enjoying traditional Chagga dances.
After the coffee experience, we will take a scenic walk through coffee and banana plantations toward the stunning Ndoro Waterfall, cascading from the foothills of Kilimanjaro. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to take photos of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro from a designated viewpoint. The hike to the base of the waterfall passes through lush green landscapes, where you can spot various plants and wildlife. Once at the waterfall, you can relax and even take a refreshing dip in the cool, clear waters.
After this incredible experience, we will drive back to Moshi, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Marangu’s culture and natural beauty.
