Day 2: Tarangire National Park- Game Drive

Pick up at Arusha Airport and transfer to Tarangire National Park for Game Drive. You will drive for approximately 2.5 hrs to Tarangire National Park. As we zip along we pass many Maasai in their colorful dress walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle and driving donkey’s carts. Tarangire is a lovely, quiet park in Northern Tanzania. It is most famous for its elephant migration, birding and authentic safari atmosphere.

Every year during the dry season from June to November, the wildlife migrate through the park allowing for a very large number of different species to be seen here. As most of this part of the country is dry, the Tarangire River remains the only source of water and consequently attracts large numbers of wildebeests, elephants, gazelles, zebras, hartebeest, buffaloes and various predators such as lions and cheetahs that come to drink and graze around the river banks.
Large swathes of Tarangire remain almost untouched, especially in the southern region of the park.  With game-viewing that is exceptional in the dry season, this Tanzanian safari park is a small gem on the Northern safari circuit, especially if you love elephants! After game drive you will drive to Maramboi Tented Lodge (full Board).

Flooding and drying with the seasons the soda lake is home to thousands of flamingo as well as over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park we will see monkey, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. Day 5: Full day in Serengeti National Park Game Drive

After breakfast you will start exploring the Serengeti with both morning and afternoon game drives, following the great migration The Serengeti National Park is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s game parks and offers arguably the best game viewing in Africa. The setting is perfect – a sea of endless plains that stretches to the horizon, dotted with the occasional acacia tree and termite mound. This Savannah is home to huge herds of buffalo that every year make the mass migration north, through crocodile infested rivers, in a frenzied mixture of mating and galloping that is driven by instinct. Prides of lion rule here, their hungry gaze sweeping the Savannah for a chance to attack the thousands of elands, impala and gazelle. Solitary leopard stakes out their place in the high branches of the acacia tree and herds of elephant’s roam at will. If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari this is optional activity available on request for $550 per person. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife. This is Africa that you have always dreamed about. Dinner and Overnight at Heritage Tented Camps. (full Board).
